Membership
Individual membership services are provided at a state level. Each state Coeliac Society is a not-for-profit organisation reliant on membership and community support. All funds raised on behalf of the organisations are re-invested into the provision of membership resources and services, research and public awareness.
Membership is open to a person:
diagnosed with coeliac disease
diagnosed with dermatitis herpetiformis
diagnosed as requiring a gluten free diet
A letter from a registered medical practitioner to verify one of the above is required for membership.
Health professionals, food manufacturers and those who cater for the gluten free diet are also welcome to join as professional associate members.
Each State Coeliac Society provides valuable, personal assistance to members via a centrally located Support Centre and Area Contacts throughout each State. The Society provides the latest information on research sourced from expert medical professionals, and positive ways of adapting to a gluten free lifestyle which may initially seem overwhelming. Each State Support Centre is up to date on all acceptable foods and can answer questions and offer encouragement, reassurance and suggestions.
